Funeral Ceremonies
'Death is not a period, but a comma in the story of life.'
Amos Traver
The Ceremony Store believes that a funeral should be a reflection of the deceased persons life. The organisation of a funeral should be a time for remembrance, and a time for sharing stories and life lessons learned from the deceased.
A celebrant with both compassion and sympathy, should spend time with the people in mourning and talk to as many family members and friends as possible in order to get a real sense of the deceased persons life and experiences.
A funeral should be include many elements, including a time for relection and mourning, a time for humour and remembrance and a time for sharing the spirit of the person who has passed, not just glossy memories. We at the Ceremony Store believe that there is no point sharing readings and psalms, if the deceased would not have wished for that.
Funerals should reflect how the deceased was in life and leave everyone present with a real personalised remembrance of the person and not some 'suggested' memorial service.
At the Ceremony Store all celebrants talk at length with as many family members as possible to really try to understand the spirit of the deceased, we try to include their favorite songs and poems at a ceremony, and this may include some live music, a sing along or a chance for everyone present to have their say about the deceased.
All Funeral Ceremonies are written from scratch and are based solely around the deceased persons and families wishes. We talk with your chosen funeral home at length in order to ensure that the funeral runs smoothly and contains all elements that you wish.
Personalised Remembrance Cards are also printed out giving a chance for guests at the Wake to write down their favorite memory or experience with the deceased, and these cards are then collected and passed onto the deceased person's spouse, children or parents.
Basic Funeral Ceremonies start at $450
Pre-planning your own funeral
Nothing is as certain as death and taxes. If you have an open mind and realise that all good things must come to an end, then you can plan your own funeral ceremony.
This is a great thing to do in conjunction with a 'Living Wake' and can certainly save your family and friends from trying to work out what you really would have wanted at your funeral. Media can be used such as pre-recorded video, or voice over and you can have the chance to leave memories with your family and friends with a lot of fore-thought and planning.
Please feel free to contact Melissa Jacob on 0401 030 422 in order to organise a meeting.
